In the region of the Arabian Peninsula, the influence of established monotheistic religions established by Judaism and Christianity were cureents that lead to the rise of a number of prophets that utged the bedouin tribe renounce a one almighty god.
The prophet Muhammed's massage responded to these influences flowing into Arabia and related to social disorganization that were distrubting the Arab life.
Muhammed poved to be an able leader whn he won the treaty with Quraysh in 628 acompanied by his triumphal return to his home-town.
Islam gave these bedouin people many things such as a monotheistic faiths, unity, and a sense of community withholding itself.
After the death of Muhammed,, and a pause to settle disputes the Ummayyad, the political center of community shifted to Damascus in Syria, it was an empire of Arab conquest state.
Thay were isolating themselves from the "converts" to try and to prevent intermarriages, and conversions.
The Abbasids who successed the Umayyads, Islam became the universal religion, flourished and extended over Euro-Asia and Africa.
Lead to commercial boom and agarian expansion by the great wealth and social statusof the merchant and landlord classes.
Their main task was to preserve the learning of the ancient civilization such as Plato, and Aristotle in subjects such as medicine, Algebra, geometry, and astronomy.
It was the birth place of such a powerful and greatest religion.
Mecca contains the kaba the most said, sacred worshipping place. Many pilgrims would try to travel to Mecca, to demonstrate their deep devotion, by reenacting the journey made by Abraham. The Muslims consisted of many different races, the poor, the rich, etc, but all of them would be dressed in white and prayed in unison gave a great sense of unity.
Medina was the shelter place to Muhammad, after the Mecca’s people ran him and his followers out. Muhammad would then raise and gain more followers. Although outnumbered against the Mecca’s people, the Muslims decided to fight, so he and his followers were engaged in a long war. In the end, Muhammad and his followers conquered Mecca, with intentions of not seeking revenge, but what he did was destroyed the idols in the Kaba that symbolized the destruction of ancestry ideals and religion.
The 5 pillar of Islam consisted of the following: First, faith to proclaim that there is only one god, Allah and Muhammad is his prophet; Second, Salat to pray five times a day; Third, Zakat to make an obligatory charity; Fourth, to fast during the month of Ramadan; Fifth, the Muslims must make a hajj, or to make a trip to Mecca at least once if possible.
